Safe Driving Tips
If you are looking to sell your used car for cash in Honolulu, you have come to the right place! Considering we have been in the car business for decades, we always like to share the latest tips and news with our readers. This week we’re sharing a few driving safety tips we hope you will keep in mind when traveling the roads of Oahu.
Buckle up (or all driving tips, this is #1)
It may be constricting, but considering more than 2 million injuries occur in car accidents in the U.S. every year and the fact that half of those could be prevented by buckling up, it just makes good sense to do it.
Make sure blind spots aren’t a problem by adjusting mirrors
Make sure you can see the road behind you in the rearview mirror, and adjust side mirrors so that you can clearly see both the sides of your vehicle and the road on both sides. When side mirrors are pointed down toward the road or in a position where all you can see is the side of your car, you’re asking for trouble due to blind spots. You must be able to see all vehicles in close proximity to your car in order to drive safely.
Turn signals were created for a reason
So many people never use their turn signals, but they can prevent accidents! Alerting those behind you that you are about to make a turn will prevent a rear-end crash. Also, use your turn signal when moving to another lane on the highway. It’s always a good idea to let other motorists know what you’re doing, even if you’re a very good driver yourself.
Good tires are a must
Many drivers mistakenly believe that good tires only matter when there is snow or ice on the roads, which is not the case. When it’s raining, slick tires make for very dangerous driving. Without good tread, bald tires make it difficult to stop quickly because they cannot grip the road. Good tires are important no matter the season or the weather.
NEVER drive distracted
Whether it’s texting, talking on the phone, eating, or trying to glimpse the newspaper headlines on the seat next to you, anything you do takes your attention off of the road. When you drive, focus on one thing only – driving safely. One split second taking your eyes off the road could prove disastrous.
Hopefully, these driving tips will help you stay safe on the roadways!
